Satisfying, flavorful Cajun cuisine! While in the area I ordered take-out from Secrets Cajun kitchen. Online ordering is easy and quick via ChowNow. I ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo ($5.95), popcorn shrimp po' boy ($12.95), and crawfish étouffée ($17.95). My order was ready when I arrived. One of the employees recommended that I check it before leaving to ensure it was accurate. Everything was correct. We dined at home and enjoyed all of the items. Similar to what was mentioned in other reviews, the seasoned fries are not seasoned. The prices seem high, however, they are reasonable considering the quantity and quality of the food. We would recommend this restaurant to others and would eat here again!
I solemnly swear that I am upto no good! My parents referred me to this restaurant. I stopped in for a quick takeout order: Two Fried Shrimp Baskets and a bowl of gumbo. My order was ready in 15mins and piping hot. I would highly recommend trying the lunch specials - the prices are cheap! My Fried Shrimp basket was served with hush puppies, waffle fries, coleslaw and tangy cocktail sauce. I wasn't to crazy about the coleslaw but everything else was good. The Bowl of gumbo was also tasty. I hope this establishment adds a seafood gumbo to the menu.
First time visiting this spot in the Walmart shopping center off new bern ave. You order at the front and pay and they bring the food to you. It was quick and friendly service. I ordered the fish po boy which came with fries; the drink was separate. The prices were reasonably too. The fish was hot and fresh. It's a good spot if you enjoy Cajun food!
Everyone has an opinion right!? Well this is mine! 1-5 Parking 4 Service 5 Food 4 Cleanliness I was really excited to go to Secret's. So I was excited to go with my brother to eat . The restaurant is clean and when you walk in you have to posted menu's. One when you walk in and do not know what to eat or you can go right to the cashier. After you order the staff will bring you your food weather you stay or take it to go. The Secrets offers both fried food options as well as crab boil. For this experience, we ordered the two meat options. My only push back to this was portion amount. I think ordering the king crab with this combo was a mistake for me personally. I was expecting a little more crab than I received. I think it was because of the option I selected yielded a smaller serving. I did enjoy the flavor of the mild secrets seasonings we also ordered cajun seasoned chicken wings. The wings tasted great but needed to drain just a little longer for me. I do like the friendliness of the staff and how kind they were while we were there. I know I will return to try this restaurant again.
Just left Secrets Cajun Kitchen. There weren't too many people there during our visit (I prefer this, so no issues!). The atmosphere was inviting and there was a TV close to the front. We (me and SO) ordered the Secret Stash Backyard Boil - Snow Crab (1/2 lb), Shell-On Shrimp (1 lb), Crawfish (1 lb), with corn, potatoes, and sausage - (neither of us wanted the crawfish: they substituted either extra shrimp or extra snow crab legs). You are able to choose your spice level - we both chose mean (spicy). We also chose the Secrets Sauce (Garlic Butter with Cajun seasoning) - there was lots of garlic in the sauce, but I LOVE garlic, so I enjoyed it! It was pretty tasty - would definitely order again. My only issue (with most places that serve seafood boils) is that the corn was frozen - I'm not a fan of frozen corn, but it didn't take much from the meal. The kids both got a wing basket with waffle fries (the fries were supposed to be seasoned; they were not, but did have some salt). SO also ordered the Turkey Gumbo. He said it was good and there was a nice helping of rice. All the food came out hot. Will return.
